Your domain name
Your domain name is the address of your website (for example yourcompany.com) and the address of your email (contact@yourcompany.com). At Simafri, it is offered for the first year and managed for you.
Is my domain name offered?
Yes, your .com, .net or .org domain name is offered for the first year and registered in your name. It then renews each year at the standard rate for its extension. For a business based in Madagascar, .mg is added to this choice.
Simafri manages it for you: there is no technical step for you to take for it to work with your website and with your Simafri Suite email.
Who owns my domain?
You do. Your domain name is registered in your name. Simafri handles its technical management as part of your subscription, but it remains yours.
How does renewal work?
From the second year, your domain renews each year at the current rate for its extension, shown in your client area and on your invoice. Its renewal proforma reaches you before the expiry date and appears in your client area, Billing section: once it is paid, the domain renews by itself and stays active.
Was your subscription taken out before 28 October 2026? Nothing changes for you: your domain remains included and its renewal remains covered by your subscription.
Can I use a domain I already own?
Yes. If you already have a domain name, Simafri can use it for your website and your email. Tell your Simafri support, who will organise the changeover without interrupting what already works.
Does mail arrive automatically on my domain?
Yes. Simafri sets up mail routing to your Simafri Suite addresses. The state of each domain is shown in your client area, Simafri Suite section, under "Mail routing".
Can I have an address with a specific extension (.com, .net, .org, .mg)?
Yes. Your offered domain can be chosen as .com, .net or .org, and also as .mg for a business based in Madagascar, depending on the availability of the name. Tell your Simafri support your preference when your service is set up, or for a later change.
