Calendar and contacts

Your calendar and contacts open in the suite, Agenda and Contact apps, and sync natively with your devices through the standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols. What you add on your phone appears on the web, and the other way round.

Putting your calendar and contacts on a device

1. Create an application password

On suite.simafri.com, open Devices:

  1. name the device, for example My phone;
  2. click Create;
  3. copy the password right away: it is shown once.

One password per device, up to 20 at a time. Revoke unplugs that device alone.

2. Enter the three lines

FieldValue
Serversuite.simafri.com
User nameyour sign-in address
Passwordthe application password from step 1

Your device then finds the calendars and address books on its own. Software that asks for the full address expects https://suite.simafri.com/dav/.

The path on each device

  • iPhone and iPad: Settings, Apps, Calendar, Accounts, Add account, Other, Add CalDAV account. Repeat in Contacts with Add CardDAV account.
  • Android: install a DAV client from the app store, then add the account with the three lines above.
  • Thunderbird: Calendar, New calendar, On the network, then the full address.
  • Outlook and macOS: add a CalDAV account, then a CardDAV account, with the same values.

Showing a calendar to a colleague

Your calendars are yours, and you alone show them. In Agenda, Who sees your calendars section:

  1. choose the person and the calendar concerned;
  2. choose what they see: busy or free, or the whole entry;
  3. choose what they may do: read, or read and write.

The calendar then appears in their list, on the web and on their phone. Take back removes it at any time.

The three shelves of contacts

ShelfWhat it holdsWho writes it
Mineyour own address bookyou, from your phone or the web
The accountthe shared directory, on everyone's phonethe people who manage the account
From the mailthe cards of your mailboxes' correspondentsthe mail itself

One search sweeps all three. Add to my contacts copies a card into your own book: the copy is yours, and the original goes on living its own life.

The account directory reaches your team's devices on its own, with no second setup: update one line and everybody has it.

What counts towards your plan

Calendars and address books take room in the account's plan, just like mail and files. A year of appointments and a full address book weigh a few hundred kilobytes, a fraction of the smallest plan. See Storage and billing.
