# Track a sent email

For every email that leaves your mailbox, Simafri Suite shows where **each recipient** stands, blind copies (**Bcc**) included. Whether the message was written in Simafri Suite, in Outlook, in Thunderbird or on a phone, the tracking is the same.

## Under the sent message

Open the message in its conversation: a line under the message sums up where it stands. One click expands it into one line per recipient, with the time, the reason in plain words and the exact answer of the recipient's server.

When a recipient will not receive the message, the details open by themselves.

## Delivery tracking

In the left rail, under **Sent**, **Delivery tracking** lists the mailbox's last thirty days, one recipient per line, newest first:

* the **All**, **Waiting** and **Not delivered** filters single out what needs your attention;
* the search field finds a recipient by part of their address;
* a click on a line opens the message in its conversation.

## What each state means

| State                                      | What it means                                                                         |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Accepted, on its way** | Simafri has accepted the message and is sending it |
| **Delivered** | the recipient's server has accepted the message |
| **Waiting** | the recipient's server asked to try again; Simafri retries by itself for five days |
| **Not delivered** | the recipient's server refused the message; the reason and its exact answer are shown |
| **Not delivered after acceptance** | the recipient's server had accepted the message, then sent it back with a notice |
| **Not delivered after 5 days of attempts** | the recipient's server could not take the message within five days |

**Delivered** means the message reached the recipient's mail server. Where it is filed next (inbox, junk folder) is up to the recipient's mail service.

## The most common reasons, and what to do

| Reason shown | What to do |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| This address does not exist at the recipient's | check the address with your correspondent, then send the message again |
| The domain of this address cannot be found | correct the spelling of the domain (`gmail.com`, `yahoo.com`...), then send again |
| The recipient's mailbox is full | let your correspondent know another way; send again once they have freed some space |
| The recipient's server is not answering at the moment | nothing to do: Simafri retries by itself for five days |
| The recipient's server refused the message through its filtering | send the server's exact answer to <support@simafri.com>, who will look into it with you |

## How long the tracking is kept

Delivery tracking shows the mailbox's last thirty days. A message deleted from the mailbox also leaves the tracking.

## For a question about a sent email

Write to <support@simafri.com> with the sending address, the recipient's address and the day it was sent: the team finds the email and the answer of the recipient's server.
